Older Adult Social Isolation
By 2050, the older adult population will double1, with 1 in 4 experiencing social isolation2. This alarming trend elevates the risk of mental and physical health issues, including cardiovascular diseases, cognitive decline, depression, and premature death3-5, illustrating the urgent need for targeted interventions.
Lack of Youth Volunteering Retention
At the same time, youth volunteering is declining, hindered by hectic schedules, financial constraints, the distance of activities, inflexible volunteer opportunities6, demanding skill requirements, and an overwhelming focus on academic achievement. Moreover, the lack of sustained volunteering often stems from involuntary and mandatory motivations7.
